Actor and director Tom Hanks has for many years expressed his passion for transportation in his movie projects — Apollo 13 to The Polar Express.

Hanks particularly loves space exploration and he's offered his considerable energy and finances to Public Broadcasting projects. Suffice is to say he's enamored by the accomplishments of astronauts and the ways of human transportation.
