The latest in the ever-advanncig sage of automotive recall news includes problems for large blocks of Ford Mustangs and Honda Motor Co., line, Acura.
Combined, more than 870,000 vehicles are involved in three separate recalls.
Ford Motor Co., announced it’s recalling 470,000 Mustangs (2005-2008) to recalibrate air bag deployment. A Ford spokesman said tests showed the strength of the vehicle’s air bag deployment could injure a small, unbelted passenger.
Ford said the potential for a problem to occur is a “a very rare scenario,”
and that no injuries or accidents have been reported.
Meanwhile, Honda Motor Co., said it’s recalling 270,000 Acura TLs (2004-2008) and 129,000 TLs (2004-2005) to address potential engine fires and a faulty windshield wiper circuit breaker failure.
In the first TL issue, potential high temperatures under the hood of TLs could cause the power steering cable to deteriorate and thus leak power steering fluid.
In the second concern area, a potential circuit breaker failure could prevent windshield wipers from working properly.
